Many think it is wise to post a resume online with one of the many job boards such as:
LinkedIn.com
Indeed.com
Glassdoor.com
ZipRecruiter.com
While these sites are worthwhile and frequently obtain responses from prospective employers and solicitations from hopeful vendors, they are not as targeted as regional, industry-specific, or company sites.
Employers are more likely to post their prime employment listings on sites that focus on occupations in their industry, believing these sites will bring in candidates with the best credentials. Thus, one should focus on industry associations, trade publications, or specific employer sites.
Some sources suggest up to 80% of jobs aren't on major job boards, pointing to networking and direct employer sites as crucial.
Here are some frequently asked interview questions. Prior to the interview prepare and rehearse answers to these questions.
Tell me about yourself.
Tell me about your social media use and skills.
Can you give me an example of how you have contributed to your present employer's bottom line?
What are your salary expectations?
How did you like your last job and why did you leave?
What are your career goals for the next 5 years? The next 10 years?
What are some of your strengths? Some of your weaknesses?
If we make you an offer, how long do you plan to stay with the company?
Please discuss the work environment or office culture where you think you would be happy and feel fulfilled.
What is your ideal position and career path?
Is there anything you would like to say to close the interview?
