Dr. Eugene H. Kong is an Assistant Professor in the BioResource and Agricultural Engineering (BRAE) Department at Cal Poly. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on combustion and a minor in fluid dynamics, from the University of Southern California, where he was a Chevron Fellow in Energy Resources, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley. His research applies electrochemical energy conversion and catalyst design to agricultural settings, engineering practical waste-to-energy solutions for farms and food systems. Before joining Cal Poly, he was an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Grand Canyon University.
