Water Festival in May

Water Festival

Heritage Village hosts the Dakota Science Center annual Water Festival each year during the first week of May. The purpose of the annual Water Festival is to help youth in the region understand the vital importance of water resources to our region’s future.

Donations are needed to cover the cost of supplies. To Donate write a check to Heritage Village, PO Box 281, EGF, MN 56721.

The Dakota Science Center has been providing an annual water festival since 1996. Each year 4th graders attend the Water Festival and enjoy the hands-on activities. Topics include water chemistry, watersheds, water quality, ground water, physical properties, history, water ecosystems, water conservation and erosion. Students and teachers attended a 2 ½ hour morning or afternoon session.  Each session has four in-depth water presentations.
