T. Mirhadi
The monumental work of "Encyclopedia for Young People (EYP)" was started in 1980 by Touran Mirhadi (1927 - 2016). It is intended to address the need for young Iranians for a reliable source of information about their own country and the world. More than 300 specialists in 30 subject and editorial groups collaborate, mostly on a voluntary basis, with the project. More than 90 young people participate in the EYP advisory group. To date, 21 volumes have been published and when completed, this alphabetically arranged, fully illustrated work will contain more than 5000 entries in 25 volumes. EYP runs extensive educational and outreach programs and in recognition of its efforts, it has been the recipient of the National Book Award.
I collaborated voluntarily with the Physics group of the EYP from June 2018 to September 2022. I wrote George Gamow and Laser articles in vols. 22 & 23, respectively.
