In March 2021, I was elected as the only female on the board of directors of the Astronomical Society of Iran since its establishment, and in October, I founded its women's branch by focusing on Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity.
The IWA won the Champion of WSIS Prizes 2022 (Category 4 Capacity Building), World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
The IWA also participated in the "Global Women Breakfast" event of the IUPAC in 2022.

For the first time in the history of science in Iran, we named the birthday of Dr. Alinoush Terian, mother of the Modern Astronomy of Iran, the "Iranian Women Astronomers' Day". 9 Nov. 2021 was her 100th birthday, and we had a special program which you can watch in the following links.
In 2021, I organized the Astronomy Week event in Iran. The event was online and it was live-streamed every night for 2 hours. The program covered several topics including the history of astronomy, astronomical legends and myths, ancient astronomical instruments, crescent sight, the moon and its discoveries, Solar Physics, light pollution, astrophotography, astrotourism, astronomy for kids and in schools, astronomy in literature and cinema, astronomical music, how to become an astronomer. We also had two competitions: painting with the theme of light pollution and astronomy in literature.
I was an expert in this TV program for topics about Mars (parts 11 & 12), Saturn (part 19), and Farewell to the Solar System (last part) from Oct. 2019 till 21 Feb. 2020. The name of the program is taken from Douglas Adams' book series titled "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
You can access all parts of the program here (in Persian).

I was a live program expert on the solar eclipses that happened in Iran on Dec. 26, 2019, and June 21, 2020. Both events were annular eclipses; however, in Iran were seen as partial.
The solar eclipse in December 2019 was an unforgettable experience since it was at sunrise from the Persian Gulf, Kish Island, Iran.
You can access the programs here.
If you are interested in learning more about eclipses, especially the solar one, watch my interviews with the Avastar group (1 & 2 in Persian).
Do not miss this video which is about the sunrise while eclipse.

On 11 Nov. 2019, a rare astronomy event, the transit of planet Mercury happened. We had a half-day workshop for the public followed by observation. Our group at IASBS did the best observation of the event. More than 200 school students and their families participated in this event. The Avastar astronomy group from Tehran was our special guest. You can find their report (in Persian) here.
Concurrent with this rare astronomical event, the IASBS Observatory was reopened after 14 years of shutdown.
On the first of May 2019, simultaneously with the holding of the 22nd national astronomy meeting at IASBS, I held a ceremony honoring the veterans of Iranian astronomy. In this ceremony, six veterans participated, and a report on the founders and influential people of Iranian professional and amateur astronomy was presented.
My formal engagement in astronomy began in 2004, when I was an undergraduate physics student with a strong passion for astronomy. At that time, I founded an astronomy outreach group in my hometown of Tabriz, Iran. The group, named Ayaz (meaning “moon in a winter night”), quickly became one of the most active astronomy groups in the region.
During those early years, I successfully collaborated with the municipality of Tabriz to promote public science engagement. This included organizing Astronomy Day in the city’s largest public park, El-Gölü, and establishing a public astronomy program for Yalda Night—the longest night of the year and an important cultural tradition in Iran—hosted at the historic Municipality Palace of Tabriz.
One of my proudest achievements is that the students I trained during this period continue to lead the Ayaz group today. Over time, the group has evolved into a central hub for science communication in the city, engaging audiences of all ages and fostering long-term public interest in astronomy.
