About Me
I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Industrial Engineering, UDP. I obtained my Ph.D. from Universidad de Chile in January 2021. My thesis was advised by Leonardo Basso and Pedro Jara-Moroni, with Juan Escobar and Rabah Amir serving as members of the committee. I completed my undergraduate studies at Universidad de Chile in Mathematical Civil Engineering (Applied Math) under the supervision of José Correa. Here you can find a brief CV. In case you want a more detailed one, it can be downloaded from here.
Research Interests
Game Theory, Mathematical Economics, Microeconomic Theory and Industrial Organization.
Current Activities (July 2024)
On July 9, my first graduate student, Bernardo Valdivia, successfully defended his Master's thesis. Bernardo studied the relationship between implicit debt and default for a country using a sequential game with perfect but incomplete information. He achieved the highest possible grade.
In March 2024, my first solo article, "Criminals can be Leaders: An Endogenous Timing Approach to Security Games," was accepted for publication in the International Game Theory Review. I'm very happy with this achievement. You can check it out here https://doi.org/10.1142/S0219198924500063
During the first semester of 2024, I will be teaching Microeconomics and Introductory Game Theory. I'm really excited about it!
In January 2024, my student Jael Álvarez defended her undergraduate thesis and became an Industrial Civil Engineer. She conducted a fascinating literature review on competition clauses and identified key elements in Chilean markets that might signal anti-competitive behavior.
