1) Navigate to https://pledgestar.com/williams
2) Scroll down to "Not registered for this event?" Even if you registered for previous years on Pledgestar, each year you'll have to register again for this year's Read-A-Thon.
3) Fill out the information to register. Once you are registered, if you used the same email address, it will remember your info such as contacts.
4) Once you submit the page will reload and with the information you just entered.
5) Now that you have registered you can scroll down to "Add Readers".
6) Select from the list of teachers. You can add multiple readers, one at a time.
1) We do encourage you to log your reading minutes online. You can do it on a daily basis or track on paper then transfer those minutes online at the end.
2) Navigate to: https://pledgestar.com/williams
3) Click on your student's name. Then choose the date in which you want to add minutes.
4) So let's say on Monday the 27th your student read for 30 minutes. Simply click and add 30 minutes to that date.
5) If you decided to track on your paper copy and just enter all the minutes at the end you can easily click through the dates and enter minutes for each date.
6) You do not need to enter any hours that your student read at school. At the end of the program, we will add those schools minutes for all students.
1) You can use Pledgestar to request friends and family to sponsor your students reading.
2) Navigate to: https://pledgestar.com/williams and scroll to the bottom under Sample Request and Photo
3) Here you can personalize your request. For example, you may want to add a photo of your student so when your donor receives the request, they will know it's for your student.
4) We do encourage you to use the default text for the request letter, but you can edit it. The default text already includes the read-a-thon dates and how the funds will be used.
5) Once you like how the request looks, navigate to: Add Family and Friends and Tracking Donations, to start sending requests.
6) You can connect to your email account and easily pull in your email address contacts. Or you can manually add contact info.
7) When adding manually, you can send via email or text message.
8) There are some other options to personalize your donation letter before sending.
This walks through what a potential sponsor will see and their options to make a pledge or donation.
1) The sponsor should receive an email (see video for example). If you uploaded an image, it would show here. This is also where that message appears that includes the read-a-thon dates and what the funds will be used for. This message also includes your students name.
2) In the email, there will be a button for the sponsor to make a donation for your student's reading. That action will redirect them to your student's read-a-thon page.
3) On your student's read-a-thon page, the sponsor can choose how they want to donate.
Flat fee- meaning they set an amount and just donate that amount. This is the most popular option. Sponsors can pay by check (make checks payable to: EDW PTA) and be sent to the school address or given to your student's teacher. Or the sponsor can pay by credit card. There is a 3% fee for credit card payments, which the sponsor could choose to cover.
**this year there is no "per minute" option for pledges
4) There is a company donation match option. This is if your company does donation matches. EDW PTA is a registered non-profit. Please reach out with any questions. EDW PTA's EIN#41-6044898
