Classroom website rationale: I created this classroom website to demonstrate that I have the necessary organizational and technological skills required to be an educator. Additionally, this website was created to show that I have knowledge of effective teaching strategies and procedures. This website satisfies knowledge indicator 4A): "understands principles of and strategies for effective classroom and behavior management." Examples of this knowledge indicator can be seen in the strategies and procedures page of my website, where I discuss the types of strategies I will use in my classroom. My website also meets performance indicator 4J): "creates clear expectations and procedures for communication and behavior and a physical setting conducive to achieving classroom goals." Examples of this knowledge indicator can be seen on my website's classroom rules page.
I found that I had a great deal of fun while creating this website. Not only was I able to learn how to use a new technology resource in Wix website creator, but I was also able to envision what my classroom might really be like. Creating this website has taught me how to effectively organize my classroom expectations, and has also taught me a new way to connect with the parents of my students.
