Annapurna Base Camp Trek
15 May 2025 to 20 May 2025 (6 Days)
15 May 2025 to 20 May 2025 (6 Days)
The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is one of Nepal’s most popular and rewarding trekking routes. Nestled in the heart of the Annapurna Himalayas, this moderate trek offers stunning views of towering peaks like Annapurna I, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli. The trail takes you through diverse landscapes—from terraced fields and lush rhododendron forests to high alpine terrain, while immersing you in the rich culture of Gurung and Magar villages. Typically completed in 7 to 12 days, the ABC trek is a breathtaking journey that culminates at the majestic Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by snow-capped giants.
After completing the epic Annapurna Circuit Trek, I couldn't resist the call of the mountains for one last grand adventure: the trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). My journey to ABC began from Ghorepani, a bustling village already familiar from the Poon Hill sunrise hike.

Teahouse: Mountain Discovery Lodge, Chuile
Setting out from Ghorepani, the journey to Chuile begins with a stunning transition from high-altitude landscapes to lush, temperate forests. The initial part of the trek winds through a magnificent rhododendron forest, leading you to the small village of Tadapani for a break with panoramic mountain views. From Tadapani, the trail changes dramatically, descending steeply into a deep gorge and requiring a careful, knee-taxing descent. This day's trek, which takes approximately 6-8 hours in total, is a showcase of the Annapurna region's diverse scenery, from forested trails to steep valley descents, culminating in a tranquil night at a lower elevation to prepare for the continued trek to Annapurna Base Camp.
