Evidence indicates that strategies such as direct instruction, which focuses on structured teaching techniques, significantly enhance student understanding and retention (Hernandez, 2019). Additionally, social skills training is vital for helping students with exceptionalities develop crucial interpersonal skills that facilitate smoother interactions in both academic and social settings (Cook & Odom, 2017). The integration of assistive technology also plays a critical role in tailoring educational experiences to meet the unique needs of these learners, promoting greater engagement and success in various learning environments.
Implementing these strategies not only caters to the diverse learning styles and needs of exceptional students but also aids in bridging the achievement gap often observed within this population. Research confirms that when educators employ EBPs, they are better equipped to create inclusive environments that support all learners (Mastropieri & Scruggs, 2020).
