In evaluating the characteristics of disabilities, it is essential to understand the core eligibility components that define each category under IDEA. For instance, autism is characterized by challenges in social interaction, communication, and restricted or repetitive behaviors that impact learning environments. Similarly, specific learning disabilities can manifest in difficulties with reading, writing, or mathematics, affecting academic performance. In my previous assignment, I effectively analyzed Henry’s situation, identifying the discrepancies between his potential and actual performance, a hallmark of learning disabilities. According to IDEA, eligibility hinges on whether the disability adversely affects a child’s educational performance (Dr. Klepfer, personal communication). However, my previous submission lacked a cohesive introduction, thesis, and conclusion, which are critical for clarity and coherence in academic writing.
