In this class we used an ultrasonic sensor to determine input. If the sensor detects something, it activates the output which is the small servo motor. In class we just checked to see that the motor reacted when the sensor detected something. Our next task is to figure out how to use the servo motor to dispense hand sanitizer. Assuming that the servo motor is strong enough to depress the pump, I think that the simplest solution would be to construct a small plastic brace that attaches to the bottle and holds the servo motor next to the pump so that when the motion sensor is activated, the servo motors lever presses down on the pump which dispenses hand sanitizer.
