"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."-Anthony J. D'Angelo
This portfolio showcases artifacts produced in the ED.S. Instructional Technology Program of West Georgia University. It is submitted as evidence of meeting the ISTE Standards for Coaches to the program advisor. I am a middle school Spanish Teacher, in a metro Atlanta school district. In the past 15 years, I worked for the county as an ESOL assistant teacher for 5 years in an elementary school, and 9 years in the current position. Technology has changed life as we know it, by leaps and bounds, yet the field of education lags behind in keeping up with technology. My interest in this program was 3-fold; to grow as a professional educator; to see how I could incorporate more technology in my classroom and keep up with the times and stimulate student interest; and obtain certification in on-line learning. As I approach my retirement years, it would be beneficial to stay connected to the field, on a part-time basis as a virtual teacher or on-line educator.
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), is home to a passionate community of global educators who believe in the power of technology to transform teaching and learning, accelerate innovation and solve tough problems in education.
ISTE inspires the creation of solutions and connections that improve opportunities for all learners by delivering: practical guidance, evidence-based professional learning, virtual networks, thought-provoking events and the ISTE Standards. - www.iste.org
