MEDT 7464 Designing Technology-Enhanced Instruction
The purpose of the project below was to design an online course using the ADDIE instructional model and plan how to implement it. This course plan was developed by myself and 3 other designers; focusing, creating and implementing an introductory course for tools to use for a research project. The main focus of the plan was the application of instructional design principles and techniques while meeting the client's needs and keeping the audience in mind. Knowledge, information and application of skills were needed to develop this plan. The group project link below outlines the designers, client, purpose and scope, the second embedded link is the actual product delivered to the client.
MEDT 8462 Leading and Managing Instructional Technology Programs
The instructional technology needs assessment data gives an overview of the need for technology in this particular school. As an instructional coach the questions posed to the teachers gave insight into the improvements or gaps needed to be addressed. The survey revealed a need for personal development for teachers in the area of personalized learning which is a big part of the school's strategic plan. This systematic process supports the transcendent change needed in the instructional environment of the 21st century as shown in the needs assessment as well as the technology plan.
Working in a group is always challenging, even more so when it is done on-line remotely without the benefit of face to face meetings. One of our members was deployed with the service in Bahrain and would be up in the middle of the night to make our meetings. We all admire his dedication and commitment to the program and our group's goals. The first weeks we went through what Tuckman (1965) coined the Form, Storm stage of Team Growth. Once discussions were had and goals were defined (forming the group and each participant accepted a role), each one of us accepted individual responsibilities and began the task of Norm, and Perform (Tuckman, 1965), which our team did quite well. Once we each had our task, we went to work. Our group was the best team with which I've ever worked. It truly was a partnership in all regards and we peer edited each section of the project, asked the hard questions, while keeping the ultimate goal of creating a doable plan that met the needs of the client and used the best methods to do so.
