Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, MS, operates the Estuarine Education Center (EEC), a 40-acre facility located on the Jackson County Campus.
MGCCC's college students use the facility for education in Outdoor Recreational Leadership and Environmental Studies, but the facility is also open to the public. The ECC offers fun activities for everyone, both indoors and outdoors, which include a rock climbing wall, kayaking, and 2 miles of nature trails through the woods along Mary Walker Bayou. Gear and equipment are provided by them.
It is really fun, the last day with the STEM group, we went to kayaking, and started raining. We got a lot of fun, it was my first kayaking experience and it was a beautiful memory that I will tell my kids in the future.
