Gavin Mitsdarfer was asked by PSEA Officers and PSEA Government Relations to speak about the importance of advocacy for aspiring educators. They told their story as an ACE going to lobby in Harrisburg for student teacher stipends and supporting all educators!

Gavin Mitsdarfer went to the Capitol in Harrisburg to advocate for the student teacher stipend, which months later, successfully partialy funded in the state budget providing stipends to student teachers across the commonwealth.

As the State PACE Director and legislative committee representative, Gavin Mitsdarfer attended the PSEA Political Institute: The Keystone to Democracy. They met with Governor Josh Shapiro, and in a brief conversation Gavin and the Governor discussed the importance of funding the stipend and how it is changing the lives of student teachers. 

PennWest Edinboro Student PSEA members sported blue on Friday, January 23rd as a part of the National Education Association Stand with Minnesota Day.
