Team Rules
Season Start and Duration
Our season begins Monday, March 11, 2024 and lasts until the third week of May, followed by the postseason.
Dugout Dues
Work in progress - please talk with your athlete and see emails for more information.
--OLD INFO--In order to support our teams with miscellaneous costs (snacks, domeball, facility rental, banquet, buses, etc.) throughout the season we will maintain the tradition of asking each family for a payment to the EHS Dugout Club. Costs have continued to increase, and this year the Dugout Club instituted some new ideas for fundraising!
Please feel free to use our Venmo option at @EHS-Fastpitch (if the app asks you for the last 4 phone digits you can skip). Please indicate in the "What's it for?" section your player's "Full Name - Dugout Dues." Alternatively you could make a check out for $100 to the EHS Dugout Club and have your daughter give it to one of the Captains.
Thank you for your support of EHS Fastpitch Softball! Go Hornets!
Will there be Cuts
TBD - Depending on Numbers. EHS Softball has built a solid tradition in years past that has increased player involvement. Expect more information as the season approaches.
Player Movement
During the season athletes WILL be moved up and down at all levels depending on performance and team need. There are 9 spots on the field at any given time and coachs need players to get reps! If players are asked to move up, you may be playing exceptionally well at the JV level, and the coaches want to see if that carries over to a higher level of competition. Additionally, coaches want to see players getting comfortable and building relationships with the Varsity players. Team chemistry is a vital component of success at this level, so make the most of interactions with all teammates. Remember, moving up or moving down (or not moving up or moving down) sometimes has more to do with the success of a teammate than anything negative about any single athlete's performance. Appreciate and encourage teammates’ success! There is a lot of talent in this program and a lot of competition for playing time. This is the foundation of a great program!
Alternatively, Varsity roster athletes may be asked to play JV during games to ensure playing time, reps, and build confidence! Being assigned to JV is about getting more experience, not about demotion. This may also be about providing an opportunity to play a different position than is available at Varsity. Take advantage of the opportunity to improve and encourage teammates on JV learn about the Varsity experience.
After JV play, proceed directly to the Varsity dugout to be with your teammates.

The captains have finalized the 2024 EHS Softball Apparel. Please note that the last day to place an order is March 12, 2024!
