Welcome to Chinese Studies Peer Support!
We are a student-led group of volunteers at the University of Edinburgh who aim to unite students of Chinese studies by running fun, relaxed events and support sessions.
We are most active on Instagram, so if you're interested in our events or getting in touch, please give us a follow!
Our aim is to provide Chinese studies students with academic mentoring and general support while being helpful, friendly faces on campus! Through our events you can meet fellow coursemates, get useful study tips, or advice on settling into uni life. Some of the events we run include:
Drop-in sessions
Every Wednesday from 2:30pm - 4:30pm in semester time, beginning week 1 (Wednesday 23rd September), 50 George Square, room G.06.
Weekly opportunity to drop by for a chance to ask questions and speak to experienced students about anything to do with academic life.
Year abroad presentation sessions
We run year abroad presentation sessions for second year students to learn from fourth years about the year abroad experience. These are relaxed presentation sessions with a Q&A format that we find are really popular, and a great way to get to know students from other years while preparing for the year abroad!
Social events
In the 2026-2027 academic year we hope to run regular socials like pub trips, movie nights, game nights and more! Feel free to let us know what you'd like to see from us by dropping us a message on Instagram or coming to our drop-in sessions.
