Café Edgewood

Ongoing: Check date on PTO Google Calendar Friday,  8:20-8:50AM

Every other Friday morning from 8:20-8:50AM, students are given the opportunity to share their talents by performing in the main hallway during arrival. Family members are invited to gather, have some coffee and baked goods while watching some of the students perform.  A great way to see the school, reconnect with Edgewood friends, and meet new ones!

Double Good School Fundraiser

January 29 - February 2, 2024


The PTO will be holding a  Double Good Popcorn virtual fundraiser! It’s 100% contactless, we keep 50% of the profit and the product ships directly to the buyer.   Our fundraising window begins on January 29, 2024, at 12:00 PM and goes until February 02, 2024, at 12:00 PM. 

Before the fundraiser begins:

Edgewood Community Annual Food Drive

November 15-18 

For the third year in a row, Edgewood families are partnering with the Women of the Village Food Pantry to support its Thanksgiving meal distribution. Collection will happen on the blacktop. Please donate pantry staples and non-perishable holiday dinner items anytime; perishables--especially turkeys!--and cash can be donated on Saturday, November 18.

PTO Election Day Bake/Soup Sale

Tuesday, November 7th

The PTO is bringing back  the soup sale this year.  This will be a big fundraiser for the PTO and a great way to get involved. We are going to need lots of support - baking, cooking, and working the table - to make this big success. Please see the Sign-up Genius link to sign up!

Lake Wintergreen Edgewood Family Meet Up Event

Saturday, November 4th at 11:30AM

All Edgewood families are invited to join the PTO for a meet-up and walk around Lake Wintergreen!  Parking can be found at 29 Main Street in Hamden, and we'll have some snacks on hand for kids. Come for a laid-back, outdoor activity to meet other Edgewood families and explore a beautiful spot in our New Haven area! If you or your family would like transportation, please e-mail EdgewoodmagnetPTO@gmail.com and we'll set up a carpool schedule. The loop around Lake Wintergreen is approximately 1.5 miles and is fairly flat and easy, although includes a small scramble up a rock area. 

Literary Costume Ball

Literary Costume Ball is on Thursday, October 26th 5:00-7:30PM

Reading is a Passport to Countless Adventures!  Come and join us for this fun filled event at Edgewood School.  This is a free event for the whole family.  There will be storytelling, crafts, games, raffles, and music!  Some of our community visitors such as The New Haven Public Library and New Haven Reads will be there. **Please bring a snack, an appetizer, or drinks (food/water) to share.  Adventure awaits!  


We are currently looking for volunteers to help with planning, decorations, as well as the day of the event.  Donations of snacks, drinks, and raffle prizes are also welcome.  Please see the link to our Sign Up Genius

Thank you to those who made this a successful event! New Haven Parks & Recreation provided a great set-up for the outdoor movie right on the Edgewood School blacktop.  We appreciate those who donated to our PTO concession stand.  Thank you to Stephanie Berner who collected and ran concessions during the movie.  It was an enjoyable evening shared with the whole community.
