In order to design your own Edeia, you must acquire a MYO ticket. They are available for 35 USD or 3 figments from the Figment Store. You may request purchase in Auspice's DMs or #questions-suggestions-feedback.
To claim a ticket, you must have a Toyhou.se account and join the Edeia Discord—MYOs will exclusively be offered on the server/via Discord. If you do not have a Toyhou.se account, you may request an invite.
You may only be holding one unused MYO ticket at a time; you must use it before purchasing another. You do not need to keep track of the ticket—I will have a part in the ML spreadsheet for it. You may resell or retrade the ticket, but you must send an update to Auspice or the #ml-updates channel.
Edeia do not have formal design requirements. The main requirement is that the design must be abstract in some way.
Abstract designs use simplified, stylized shapes that suggest natural forms without detailed biological structures. While they may evoke the appearance of fur, feathers, scales, or other textures, these elements are more impressionistic than realistic—feathers might blend seamlessly together without individual barbs, eyes may lack pupils or detailed structure, and claws might appear as smooth, unified shapes rather than having joints or realistic proportions.
Designs considered "too anatomical" to be accepted might show realistic biological details like individual teeth with gums, detailed musculature, or complex joint structures. If too many of these characteristics are part of a MYO submission, it is likely that they will be requested to be altered or balanced with highly abstract elements, like floating limbs.
Note that Edeia can be depicted with more anatomical detail in alternate forms or shapeshifts, but their main reference should maintain this abstract aesthetic.
You can also take a look at other Edeia to get the same general feel of the species. If you have questions about designs, please request assistance in the #design-help channel of the Ideation Discord. You may share WIPs of your MYO in the #artwork channel of the server or privately, but you must mention that it is a MYO WIP, and you must own a ticket.
Anyone can commission anyone who has at least one Edeia MYO design by them on the ML, or who otherwise has permission from Auspice. The owner of the MYO can also make masterlist artwork for themself. There are several requirements to determine whether or not an image is a fit for the ML; if needed, Auspice will request adjustments or a new image, which can be from the same or different artist.
The two following images must be prepared:
fullbody with no cropping
no additional references (e.g. alternate view, eye closeup, etc.)
clean (no sketch lines)
gradient background
proper textures (metallic shading on metal, glow on glowing parts); shading is only required when needed to convey material textures
unobtrusive watermarks are permitted, but they cannot significantly cover the design.
Less formal elements that are nonetheless used to judge fit for the ML include the clarity of the design—the symmetry or lack thereof in the design, the 3D form, etc.
Lineless style is preferred but not required.
any number of additional references can be included, e.g. eye details, back views, etc.
flat color reference required
color palette required
background can be transparent or flat
Additional images such as concept sheets can be added if desired.
You may seek other artists for ML artwork or designs from the MYO & Guest Artist Forum in ideation-forums of the Ideation Discord.
MYO artists can be anyone who has at least one Edeia MYO design by them on the ML, or who otherwise has permission from Auspice. They can offer ML artwork, but not designs.
Guest artists are those who have the right to offer custom (or notion-like, or other types) designs for others' MYO Edeia. Anyone who has at least one Edeia MYO design by them on the ML can send a request to be a guest artist, valid for one year.
You may contact artists for ML artwork even if they have not posted their information in the forum, if they have at least one Edeia MYO design by them on the ML.
If you plan to commission someone else for the masterlist artwork but wish to design the Edeia yourself, it is recommended to prepare one or more concept images that follow these recommendations:
Design the Edeia entirely and as clearly as you can. It does not need to be clean, as long as all the relevant information of the design is fully conveyed; you can provide multiple views and a palette if you wish as well.
There will be no design input from the ML artist and ideally no alterations, as they are simply drawing your design. If there are details not conveyed visually, please describe them in text; i.e. "the back of the wings are solid black." Significant or complicated details should not be text-only.
It should either an angled view or multiple orthogonal views (i.e. front, back , and/or side) sufficient to get a 3D sense of the form. For instance, if you have a front-only orthogonal view, you should also provide a side view. It can be a simple sketch, so long as the information is conveyed.
Guest artists are those who have the right to offer custom (or notion-like, or other types) designs for others' MYO Edeia. Anyone who has at least one Edeia MYO design by them on the ML can send a request to be a guest artist by sending this form to Auspice:
Name:
Pronouns:
ToS: (any ToS you may have other than the typical Edeia ToS)
Pricing: (pricing for customs and other types of designs if offered)
Examples: (link to MYO Edeia designed by you)
Other Info: (info about the process, turnaround time, or other details)
If Auspice approves, you can post this information to a Guest Artist forum in ideation-forums of the Discord server. It will be valid for one year, after which you must send the request again.
The MYO process is fairly involved, so please read these instructions carefully.
An individual ("you") purchases a MYO ticket from Auspice. You must declare the Idea. You may change it once for free; changing the Idea again will have a 5 USD fee each time.
MYO Ideas, once declared with a ticket, are held for 9 months. If the hold expires and no one uses the Idea, you can still use it (or re-hold it normally after the cooldown month). Alternatively, you can pay a 5 USD or 1 Inspiration fee to hold the Idea permanently.
Create a TH profile for your MYO, with the name "[Edeia MYO] Idea Name". Credit Auspice as the creator. In the profile text, add "[Pending Submission/Approval]" at the top. When you have the information, add the MYO Form (see below) to the text of the profile.
Prepare the masterlist artwork according to the requirements above. You can check your design in #design-help. You may make it yourself or have someone else help you, whether as a commission or volunteer work. Upload the images to the MYO TH profile; do not watermark the thumbnail of the main image, and Auspice must have access to the full view of both images. Add the designer to the TH via the ownership panel, and the artist as the artist of the images.
Submit your MYO by linking the TH profile and uploading both required images in the #myo-approval channel in the Discord. You can check your design in #design-help.
Auspice checks the design and info. They will request changes or approve.
If they approve, they will update the ML and give you a number and stash link. Add the ML number with the stash link to the Masterlist field, update the profile name, remove the [Pending Submission/Approval] text, and then request to add the Edeia to the Ideation TH world. Once Auspice accepts, your Edeia is official! You may edit the profile content as you please.
