It appears from research so far that Eddison records are surprising rare. The two records below were found on the National Archives website and relate to correspondence in the Leeds area prior to Frank Eddison coming down to Dorset.
The definitive book to date on Eddison Ltd is R A Whitehead's book " A Century of Service" commissioned by Eddison Ltd in 1969 to celebrate their centenary. (We have a copy)
This has a very useful appendix listing all known road rollers and traction engines (except ploughing engines) owned by Eddison Plant Ltd.
It appears that Reading University hold some Aveling & Porter information. Not researched as yet
Lincoln County Council archives hold a large number of Eddison / Aveling & Porter drawings and other records due to the head office move to Grantham. We have now obtained drawings and a copy of the original build sheet (see Roller No 411)
There is a short piece on their website about the introduction of the E type roller in 1920 (No 411 was made in 1922)
