Common Sense Media does not currently have TK curriculum, however, here are some simple lesson ideas to get your students talking about safety when using technology. These are just a few ideas. You know your students best and can come up with any mini-lesson to have students using technology safely.

What is Technology?

Watch Elmo and Christina talk about Technology and have a discussion.

Don’t click on everything! (Privacy and Safety)

Watch Child Focus ‘E-Safety’ video and have a conversation about asking an adult if you're unsure about something that pops up on a screen.

Handling iPads Appropriately (Online Etiquette)

Have a conversation about proper iPad use in the classroom.
Watch Goodnight iPad or read the picture book and have a discussion about using technology.

Using Seesaw (Digital Footprint, Online Etiquette)

If you class is using Seesaw to share student work, have a conversation about using the app appropriately and only posting work to their name. Help students problem solve what they should do if they accidentally share their work under a different name.
Have a conversation about how Seesaw works and who sees the work once it is posted. How do you respect other people's work online?
