Steven Wolk is an associate professor at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. The university describes itself as the “most ethnically diverse university in the Midwest.” The programs at the university are concerned with urban education, situations such as Detroit, Michigan where the latest statistics show that less that 30% of students in Detroit Public Schools graduate high school.
