· Alternative biochar creation methods

o Try using corn stalks, leaves, annatto stems, twigs, crop residue, etc.

o Refine the grinding process – find mechanical way to reach desired size

o Use very fine sieves – separate biochar granules from finer dust to refine flow rate

· System revamp

o Find local materials that can mimic gravel and slow sand filters

o May be used to recreate a sustainable, large scale filtration system

o Add backwashing system or clogging prevention to the current barrel design

· Longevity and maintenance analysis

o Analysis on water quality and filtration rate after months of use

o E.coli testing of stagnant water to determine if any bacteria passed through and grew new colonies

o Analysis of biochar creation methods and any adverse contaminants introduced
