Soil Moisture Sensor: Applying The Laws Of Electricity To Optimize Household Plants Management
by Harold McCants, Kirkland Ranch Academy of Innovation, Wesley Chapel, FL
When watering plants, there is always the problem of over/under watering them. Both may damage the plant, making their management a time-consuming activity. In this paper, we present the theory and implementation for a Soil Moisture Sensor, which automatically detects the conductivity of the soil supporting the plant. An extension of the project adjusts for the plant species specific optical electric conductivity, including water salinity as a control parameter.

A Study On The Correlation Between A Star's Rayleigh-Taylor Characteristic Timescale And Stellar Wind Activity
by Fiona Klett, King High School, Tampa, FL
Emissions of massive particles from stars (stellar wind) are still not completely understood, yet the mechanism could be useful in modeling solar activity contributing to global warming.

AI Journal
by Mairead Reardon, FL
Understanding the precise scope of applicability of AI tools and therefore their limitations is essential for properly using these technological advances without the risk of confusion or mismanagement. The role of the user is different when using AI than when using any other computer-based tool, because AI is designed to be constantly-evolving and is not a localized resource, therefore presenting the novel challenge of working with unsupervised learning from unknown sources. These important new features are documented and explored in our article.
