How to Become a Cub Scout
Register with Scouting America either online or by completing a paper application (click here). If you do it online, email your receipt to pack196elcampo@gmail.com for reimbursement.
Complete the Medical Form (email to pack196elcampo@gmail.com or give to leader)
Facebook: Join "Pack 196" Private Group and "El Campo Pack 196" our public page (Joining us on Facebook is optional)
Purchase your uniform and t-shirt (t-shirt optional)
How much will scouting cost?
$50-100 for uniform (varies by age & options selected), there is a uniform assistance program available.
Scouts and their families will pay for the campouts and field trips (such as the Lexington or NASA sleepover) that they choose to participate in.
There is an annual banquet in March, scouts and leaders are free, family members purchase tickets (kids 5 and under are free)
All other scouting activities are included at no cost to the scouts.
Annual Cake Auction Fundraiser
Every year at our Blue & Gold Banquet, we have a cake auction to raise money for the next year. Scouts and leaders are asked to bake a cake with their parent. Awards are given in a variety of categories, and it is always fun to see the kids' creativity. Local businesses (and individuals) purchase the cakes, and some decided to take them to their homes or offices, and others donate them to our local Police, Fire, EMS, city hall or other service offices.

If you need assistance with any scouting expenses (uniforms, camping or event fees), please email and let us know. Information is kept confidential and will only be reviewed by the Cubmaster and Committee Chairman.
