It takes a lot of work to make the Pack “go.” The work comes primarily from the families that make up the pack, assisted by volunteer and professional Scouters at the District and Council level to offer guidance and structure for their program to succeed. Volunteering not only makes Scouting work, but it has its own rewards to those that contribute time and talent.
Pack 196 requires each family to lead at least 1 Den Meeting.
This involves planning a 1-hour lesson for 5-10 kids at the time and place of your choice.
Have your child help in the planning.
Lesson plan links are listed on the Den page.
All LEADERS are required to take this course.
All PARENTS are encouraged to take this course.
2-Deep leadership is always required. This can be 2 leaders, or 1 leader and 1 parent. Adults should never be 1-on-1 with minors at scouting events.
