OUR MISSION
The Economics Society, founded on April 1st, 2022, is the official student organization of the NYU Shanghai Economics Department. We are committed to pursuing knowledge and understanding of economics comprehensively. We are proud to bring you a series of distinguished world-class speakers to share our interest in the continuously evolving world of economics and how it interacts with the worlds of politics, technology, current affairs, and global issues. The Economic Society is more than just an academic society; we strive to form a sense of belonging and identity within the department, our community, and our university.

Our goal is to bring in world-class speakers to share their exciting research and expert knowledge on economics issues. Our Speaker Series allows students to learn from others to improve their skills, understand current economic events, and gain knowledge about their potential college major and future career.

These conferences, hosted once a semester, focus on significant current issues, providing a platform for speakers to share diverse perspectives and insights. By engaging with experts from various fields, students and attendees can deepen their understanding of the topic, appreciate differing viewpoints, and gain a comprehensive overview of the issue at hand.
REAL ESTATE GROUP
The Economics Society's acquisition of SHREG marks a pivotal moment in enhancing the academic experience for our members. This partnership combines the strengths and resources of both organizations, enabling us to delve deeper into the diverse and evolving field of real estate and its unparalleled insights and opportunities for exploration.
ACADEMIC JOURNALS
With students carrying out every aspect of writing, editing, and design, our publication teams reflect the innovative and creative excellence fostered by the university's diverse and educated student population. Our team is committed to providing a forum to discuss ideas and providing the wider NYU Community with cutting-edge economic research.
SOCIAL INITIATIVES
The Economics Society offers a bi-weekly platform for members to engage in discussions, network with peers, and connect with esteemed faculty members. These gatherings, scheduled every other Friday, serve as a cornerstone for fostering a vibrant and collaborative community within the department and our club community.
