On March 18th, 2024, NYU Shanghai's Qiantan Campus hosted a dynamic event titled "Trends in Development Finance: Navigating BRICS, Climate Finance, and Sustainable Initiatives." Bringing together industry experts, students, and economic enthusiasts, the event provided a comprehensive exploration of pivotal economic sectors through insightful panel discussions.
Panelists such as Leslie Maasdorp, CFO & VP of New Development Bank, Bianca Orsi, Economics Fellow at Leeds Business School, and Marina Zucker-Marques, Senior academic researcher at BU Global Development Policy Center, shared practical insights into development economics, finance, climate change, and technology, offering valuable perspectives on sustainable development, particularly in the Global South and the future of research in development finance.
Attendees actively engaged in discussions, fostering a vibrant learning environment and seizing networking opportunities. The event's success was a result of collaborative efforts among industry leaders, school government, and organizers dedicated to knowledge sharing and community building.
