ABOUT THE PROJECT
We do not need to wait for world leaders to act before we all do something. We are more powerful than we think. We should not let our age hold us back. We need to stand up for what we believe in and for our generation's future.
We may be the future generation, but we are also the present. We need to be the change that we want to see in the world!
The atmosphere is warming and the climate is changing with each passing year. One million of the eight million species
on the planet are at risk of extinction. Forests and oceans are polluted and destroyed. Recent disasters such as forest
fires, floods, rapid depletion of resources and the COVID-19 outbreak have announced the planet's cries
for help, and demonstrated how strategically important protecting biodiversity is for our health, well-being and security.
While the world is in such a state, the results of the ecological footprint and environmental attitude scale for sustainable
living that we applied to students aged 9-13 in our schools required us to take immediate action.
To protect biodiversity and mitigate climate change, people, governments and educational institutions around the world need to be part of this movement .
That's why we urgently need to include ecological literacy in our school
curriculum with an interdisciplinary approach, provide sustainable living habits to today's children, who are tomorrow's
decision makers, and develop stronger strategies to strengthen ecological literacy by developing cooperation at the
European level.
On thursday 10.11. we had a zoom meeting of partner schools where the students introduced themselves and got to know each other. Each school introduced itself with a presentation and a song. We had a great time.
