Who is invited: Echo Park Students
What is it: Read-a-thon is a month-long event, where students are encouraged to read and raise money.
Where is it: Echo Park and anywhere your student can read a book!
When is it: January, 2026
Notes about the event:
Half-Priced books donates 100s of used books to Echo Park every year. All kids are given an opportunity pick from the books and bring one home for free!
Volunteers are need to help sort the books into grade levels.
Pledges and reading calendars are due No later than February 12th at 10am in order to be eligible for prizes. Money received later will still go to the Read-a-Thon and Echo Park.
We are looking for volunteers to help sort donated books into appropriate grade levels and stuffing Read-a-Thon envelopes.

How to register your child:

Follow instructions on-screen to register your student(s)

You get notified each time a pledge is made and can track your progress online.

Cash and checks can be sent to school with the student or checks can be mailed to ECHO PARK (Attn: Read-a-Thon)
