It is used to determine your academic standing with the college and Satisfactory Academic Progress with Financial Aid
Are you planning on transferring to a university? Your GPA matters!
✨Your GPA is one of the biggest factors influencing your chances of getting into a university. A strong GPA shows that you can handle college‑level work and makes you more competitive for selective majors and campuses. While essays, activities, and course choices also matter, the GPA often determines which transfer options are realistically within reach.
How to Calculate Your GPA
You will need to access your unofficial transcript on your MyECC account.
Once you have it, cross out the classes that do not have a letter grade (such as W, I, CR/P, NC/NP).
Add up the units attempted for each class and the grade points for those classes listed. Grade points are calculated by multiplying units attempted by the grade point value for the grade received in each class.
Once you have added all the units attempted and the grade points, calculate your GPA by dividing the number of grade points by the units attempted.
