Headshots are to the character's neck and shoulders. Half-bodies are to the character's bust or waist. Knee-ups are to the character's the knees. Full bodies are the character's entire body. This can vary slightly depending on the pose, but I generally stick to these guidelines.

Backgrounds
Backgrounds
No Background: A solid color or transparent background.
Simple Background: A gradient or simple pattern (ex. polka dots, check), often consisting of one or two simple shapes (ex. circles, squares, triangles, hearts, stars) and 1-3 colors. This also includes photos as backgrounds, which can be unedited or slightly edited (ex. blurred, minor color adjustments).
Complex Background: A complex pattern consisting of multiple shapes or more complex shapes (ex. detailed flowers) and 3+ colors. This sometimes includes photos as backgrounds, but they have to have a edits that'll likely take me a significant amount of time (ex. color grading, removing people from the photo).
Scenery: A background based on a place. Can be somewhere in nature (ex. a forest, beach, mountain) or somewhere urban (ex. a city, inside a building).

Traditional or digital. Traditional flat sketches are typically done in blue, green, or black pen, but I do have other colors or I can use pencil instead. Digital sketches are typically done in dark blue or dark green, but I can use other dark colors.
Traditional sketches will be done with pen or pencil. Digital sketches will be done with the brush I use for rough lines or the brush I use for textured lines. The commissioner can pick for traditional sketches, but I pick for digital sketches.
Simple and complex backgrounds are not typically options. I rarely ever do backgrounds for sketches, unless it's scenery.

The cost of additional characters will vary based on the number of characters, the background, how each character is drawn, and how much of each character can be seen.
I'll use the illustrations here as an example. There are two characters. Both are drawn as flat color headshots with textured lines, and the illustration has no background, so it'll be $47.50 per character. The illustration would be $95.00 in total.
This does get a bit more complicated with simple, complex, or scenery backgrounds. It's best to send an inquiry with a description of what you want, and I'll get you an accurate quote for it.
