75TH ANNIVERSARY: We are looking for volunteers to help plan a celebration for our church's 75th anniversary. Please reach out to Rachel V by emailing the church or calling/texting her if you are interested in helping out!

 

NOMINATIONS FOR ELDERS & DEACONS: Council expresses its thanks to all those within the congregation who participated in nominating gifted members to serve in the office of elder and deacon. Council also expresses its appreciation to those who have willingly consented to serve as elder or deacon if elected. EBENEZER ATHLETES IN ACTION SPORTS CAMP: Ebenezer Church in partnership with Athletes in Action is running a one week multi-sports camp Monday July 15 to Friday July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to be held at Trenton Christian School. Participant age range is 6-11 yrs old. Those entering grade 1 in the fall are welcome to attend. Cost is $110 per camper.

 

Campers will be provided with freezies and water to refill a water bottle. Campers must provide their own lunches. Please consider who in your neighbourhood would like to attend this camp and invite them to contact the church, or either garyhaveman@yahoo.ca or spostma23@hotmail.com for information.  BABY BOTTLE DRIVE: Pregnancy & Family Care is running our baby bottle fundraiser. Please pick up a bottle and fill it with your change and cheques and return it by Father’s Day to support mothers and families in our community. You can also donate at PFCQW.CA

 

 

CHURCH OFFICE SUMMER COVERAGE FOR 9 DAYS: Summer coverage from 9 a.m. to noon each weekday is required in the church office from July 30th to August 9th. If you are able to help out in this paid position, please contact the church office. Tasks include answering phones and emails, and finalizing/printing the bulletin.

 

SPRING DRIVE: The Quinte Region Christian Schools’ Spring Drive is underway! Our amalgamated schools face a blessing and a challenge: We’ve grown faster than any of us could have imagined. Our schools have seen a 62.5% increase in students over the past 3 years. Praise the Lord! However, donations have not kept pace. All 4 schools are working together to reach a goal of $600,000 for our combined Spring Drive by May 31. MAY 12 OFFERING: The second collection is for Pregnancy and Family Crisis Centre of QW. PFCQW is a non-profit org. dedicated to affirming the value of every life by equipping those in our local community with resources, education, and support to compassionately serve those facing an unexpected pregnancy or family-related issue. MAY 19 OFFERING: The second collection is for Citizens for Public Justice, an organization who is inspired by faith to act for social and environmental justice in Canadian public policy. They focus on policies relating to poverty in Canada, climate justice, and refugee rights. cpj.ca

 

Highlights of May 2, 2024 Council Meeting

·        Council approved the names put forward for new Office Bearers.

·        Holidays for Pastor Adam were approved by Council.

·        Elder delegate and Deacon delegate were confirmed for May 28th’s Classis Meeting in Courtice.

·        The Government put forth changes to bylaws in order to recognize virtual meetings. Updated bylaws will be shared with the congregation this month.

·        Plans for an anniversary celebration were discussed at Council, to mark 75 years.

·        Council approved the resignation of Chris Doorenspleet and thanks him for his service as an Elder over the past year.

·        The next council meeting will take place on Thursday, June 6th at 7 p.m.
