Summary:
Snap is a young girl who finds friends in the most unlikely places. One day when she is coming home, Snap runs into someone named Jacks. Jacks articulates roadkill and Snap is instantly fascinated and wants to learn more. Jacks has ties to Snap's family that she does not know about. Snapdragon also has a power that has not been harnessed yet. Through the course of the book we watch as Jacks and Snap's friendship blossoms and she learns the trade of bone articulation.

What does it mean to be a good friend? TPS some ideas of how it is shown that someone is being a good friend. Make a class list of the qualities or character traits of people who are good friends.
While Reading:
Revist the question "what does it mean to be a good friend?" Is Snap a good friend to Jacks? Is Snap a good friend to Lu?
Explain some of the character traits you see in snap that make her a good friend.
After Reading:
Create a Voki with dialogue that Snap either said, or something she WOULD say. Write down your blurbs on a separate sheet of lined paper like a script. You may also create a Voki for Jacks. The designs must reflect the character.
