The East Asian VLBI Workshop (EAVW) is an annual international meeting that promotes collaboration among VLBI communities in East Asia and beyond.
The workshop series began in 2008 and has since been hosted in various countries across the region, strengthening scientific and technical cooperation among research institutes and universities.
A major milestone in regional VLBI collaboration was the establishment of the East Asian VLBI Network (EAVN) in 2018. Formed through cooperation among institutes in China, Japan, and Korea, EAVN integrates major facilities such as KVN, VERA, and the Chinese VLBI stations, significantly enhancing high-resolution radio astronomy capabilities in East Asia.
EAVW has played an important role in fostering this collaboration by providing a platform to share scientific results, discuss technological developments, and explore future directions for VLBI research.
EAVW2026 continues this tradition in Fukui, Japan.
