How much is the fee?
The fee usually ranges from 1,000 to 2,000 yen. We adjust the number of participants and the studio size so that everyone can split the cost fairly within this range.
Note from the Organizer:
As an incentive for organizing and managing the sessions, the organizer (Yamada) participates free of charge. Thank you for your understanding!
Is observation allowed?
Yes, it is! Please sign up using the Google Form.
Please note:
The participation fee for observers is the same as for players. We appreciate your understanding as the fee covers the shared cost of the studio rental.
Can I rent instruments at the studio?
Instruments already provided by the studio, such as the drum kit, keyboard, and vocal microphones, are available for use.
What should I bring?
For other instruments, including wind instruments (sax, trumpet, etc.), guitars, and basses, please bring your own.
Do I need to prepare my own sheet music?
Yes, please prepare your own sheet music and bring it with you on the day of the session.
The Standard Guide: "The Black Book" (Jazz Standard Bible)
Our sessions are based on the "Jazz Standard Bible" (widely known in Japan as "Kuro-bon"). Product Link: Rittor Music
Using Other Sheet Music:
You are welcome to bring other sheet music; however, please note that the key and arrangement will follow the versions found in the "Jazz Standard Bible."
Is there an official after-party or drinking event?
There are no official drinking events organized by the session itself.
Casual meetups:
However, it’s quite common for participants who hit it off during the session to go out for drinks or a meal together afterward!
Will we play songs other than the pre-selected tunes?
After we finish the pre-selected songs, we’ll play additional tunes that the members present can play together.
No Pressure:
Don’t worry—we will not force anyone to play difficult songs beyond their level. We aim for a stress-free environment for everyone!
Can I promote my own live shows or events?
Yes, you are welcome to do so!
Please be mindful:
We just ask that you be considerate of others to ensure everyone remains comfortable. Please avoid excessive promotion or being overly pushy.
What is the typical age range of participants?
Most participants are in their 20s to 50s.
