Students are at the center of all our work at the EA School of Innovation. We believe that each student holds untold promise for the future and it’s our mission to equip them with the knowledge and skills to achieve whatever their goals may be. Our diverse student body comes to us with a variety of different experiences, strengths, and passions. We use these to drive student learning to be personal, meaningful, and rigorous.
We know that future jobs will be technologically skilled and globally connected. The EA School of Innovation is devoted to ensure that its students have the skills they need to be successful in their future careers and life. To help reach this end for all students, we strive to knock down any barrier for a student and are mindful of societal bias and structures of social class, gender, race, and other constructs in the design of our learning opportunities and supports. Our goal is to create an environment where all students develop into full, successful, happy adults.
Each of our classrooms are set up to empower our students in their learning. Students have access to a variety of tools to help them uncover new ideas and skills. Technology is used to bolster their learning in skills like collaboration, communication, and problem solving. All teachers have had extensive training in the best pedagogy in using technology in the classroom and use it to provide effective flexible pathways for students to interact with their content.
Learning happens in hands on, minds on ways with students interacting with problem based learning opportunities where students develop solutions to problems in their local community as well as the world. Students learn to be engaged global citizens, connecting to the experts, experiences, and ideas from around our world. We also recognize that we have a lot of talent and expertise right in our own neighborhood. Our school leverages that expertise from our local community members to help mentor, extend, and deepen our students learning. The only limitation to our learning is the limitations of our imagination.
