"When my husband and I first started trying for our 3rd child I knew I wanted to give birth naturally this time. The first two times I had been unnecessarily induced and gotten an epidural and while I felt accomplished, I felt I was missing out on something. I wanted to experience giving birth naturally. I hired and met with a great doula, but when I went into labor she was unavailable and LaToya was her cover. To begin with I was a bit uneasy and unsure of having someone I had never met helping me labor ( especially since I had never labored naturally) .. but from the moment LaToya walked into the delivery room I knew God had sent me an angel. She had something about her that just brought me so much peace & joy. She helped me in so many ways to deliver my baby girl completely natural.. My only wish was that I had gotten the chance to get to know her even more before the big day because she sure is something special, she has a passion for supporting women & so knowledgeable about all things birth related. "I am exhausted, sore, and sometimes still anxious. I essentially haven’t slept for three days. I definitely wanted to quit a few times during the worst of contractions but God placed SO many amazing nurses, midwives, Mama Castro (my emotional support champ) with Earthside Harmony Holistic Services, and my AMAZING, selfless, supportive husband by my side and He used them all to carry me through. I am so thankful God made this baby, grew this baby, and delivered this baby for us. We are so in love!

I can not recommend Latoya enough if you need any birth and postpartum support!!! Additionally, the UNC midwives are top notch! We were thrilled with our experience.

"Wow! Where do I begin?! I am so very thankful that I decided to have Mamma Castro support me through the birth of my son. I was very nervous as a first time mom and really wanted to have a natural birth. To add to my concerns, my midwives suddenly decided to induce me a week early. I feared that my dream for a natural birth was out the window and was very worried about further interventions. Latoya was ready to meet me at the hospital at the very beginning stages. She is always in it for the long hall and cleared her calendar for the next 48 hours promising to be there until he was in my arms. Her wealth of knowledge gave me so much peace and helped me make informed decisions. She made me still feel in control of my birth despite Pitocin. She was right by my side, encouraging me, calming me, and keeping me focused. She was a soothing presence in the room as she sang along to worship music with me. While pushing, she literally held me and helped me welcome our son into the world. I had the birth of my dreams in just over 12 hours and I believe that she absolutely made that possible.
