ACT/SAT

Many NC colleges and universities require the ACT or SAT for admission. ECHS students will complete the ACT in their junior year. Students can elect to take the ACT or SAT multiple times to maximize their scores for college admission.

ACT

What is tested? The ACT tests English, reading, math, and science.

How is it scored? Students receive a score for each section and a composite score. The composite score ranges from 1 to 36.

What is the cost? Free for all ECHS juniors.

SAT

What is tested? The ACT tests critical thinking skills in reading and math.

How is it scored? Students receive a total score ranging from 400-1600.

What is the cost? Approximately $55.
