The Boyertown Junior Optimist Club is a kid-run club that does community service projects in the community. There are two different clubs: a club for students in grades 1-5 which is the Alpha club, and the Octagon club includes students in grades 6-12.
Past community service projects include collecting food for the souper bowl of caring and donating the food to the Boyertown Salvation Army and Preston's Pantry. Clubs have served meals at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and delivered cookies/brownies to local police and ambulance departments. They also did a fundraiser and donated part of the proceeds to the Berks County Animal Rescue League and collected food, blankets, toys treats for the Berks ARL.
All students within the Boyertown Area School District are invited to join for a future meeting. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights. Contact jroptimistclubofboyertown@gmail.com with questions, and find the Boyertown Junior Optimist Club on Facebook!
