Hayden Konanui-Tucker is a current junior at Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi since Kindergarten. He is the moʻopuna of Jerry Konanui and Gladys Konanui who continually inspire him in all he does. When not busy with his academics, he enjoys spending his time leading and facilitating numerous extra curricular activities and dancing hula. He also is involved with his community by leading presentations and workshops on things related to Kuʻi Kalo and the moʻolelo about Hāloanakalaukapalili as he continues to perpetuate his papa's legacy.
Anna Su is a sophomore in high school and 1 of the "tech" people in the group, who are mainly in charge of building and modifying the website! She joined YAAH for its focus on social justice and after seeing how few people the Resilient Hawaii group had, thought that it would be a good opportunity to expand her horizons! She hopes that through her involvement in this program, she can become a greater asset to her community. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, though she's bad at making time to practice.
Ella blu Pakele is a Junior Sacred Hearts Academy and one-half of the tech support duo tasked with curating our website and social media. She was introduced to YAAH through her involvement in Pacific Asian Affairs Council and wanted to become a more active member of her community. YAAH offers students the opportunity to become civically and globally engaged while simultaneously building connections with forward-thinking students across Hawai’i. She chose the Resilient Hawai’i Hui because its umbrella term allowed it to encompass many issues facing Hawai’i.
Ifit Hoppe-Cruz is a Sophomore at Waiʻanae High School and is mainly concerned with writing the groups mini-grant and social media campaign. They became involved with this project because of their love for their community and people. Hawaiʻi is the sands of their birth and they feel a deep spiritual connection to this ʻāina, and along with that connection comes a responsibility, to ensure that she is protected and loved. Disseminating understanding of sustainability, resilience, and our ecosystems in Hawaiʻi is near and dear to their heart and is necessary.
