Class activities(Coding)
I first experienced coding in ETEC 676D class. Scratch is a great instructional platform for students who are new to learn coding. When you enter simple commands in order, the objects complete one scenario. Through this coding, I created a physical education class. I've spent a lot of time, but I think this technology has potential as a great educational tool not only for students but also for teachers.
Reflection
In the ETEC 676D Final Project, I tried creating a slide app using x-code. X-code technology required a high level of coding. If Scratch was riding a bike, coding felt like driving a car. The reason is that bicycles only need to move two feet, but cars can be used only after considering many things, such as age restrictions, road laws, and driving methods.
So I learned how to make a slide app by watching YouTube, and slowly entered the computer language. Although there were many errors in the execution process, I was able to complete a simple slide app after trying it several times.
Through this project, I learned the fun of coding and how coding allows students to think critically and computationally as an instructional tool.
