Mike Ho

Mike has played ultimate at the college, club and rec league levels. As a player, he has played at Nationals in the Mixed and Masters divisions. Inspired by his passion about the game, he coached the LS Girls Ultimate team in 2019 and has coached Curtis Ultimate since 2019, co-creating the middle school team with Solange Lavanchy.

His years of experience, his calm nature, and his USAUltimate Coaching Certification training make him not only an invaluable coach and promoter of our middle school team, but also a great role model for players who are first approaching Ultimate Frisbee. Mike's coaching style has always reinforced the idea that practices, games and tournaments are places where we come to learn and appreciate how we can work together to function as a better team and player.

He has 3 kids who attended Sudbury schools, one of who went on to play ultimate at UMass Amherst. He continues to actively play and is always willing to share a word of advice to new players, but always with a humble approach and valuing new players above all.

Brian Cooperman

Brian first learned how to play Ultimate Frisbee at summer camp over 25 years ago and first played competitively in his last two years at Tufts University. He has played Ultimate at various competitive levels in the Boston area ever since and now plays with co-coach Mike Ho on a Sudbury-based mixed summer Ultimate team.

Brian has coached Youth Ultimate programs in Hopkinton, and is in his 4th year coaching at the Framingham Youth Ultimate League and 3rd year coaching the Curtis Middle School Ultimate team. He is also a parent of a current Curtis student and Ultimate Frisbee athlete and expects both of his children to join the Curtis team in the 2024-2025 school year.

Solange Lavanchy - Assistant Coach and Coordinator

Solange first got involved in Ultimate Frisbee through her oldest son when he was a 9th grader at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School and joined the LS Ultimate Team, the Taco Wagon. She worked coordinating the Boys Team during the Spring seasons, and the Mixed team during the Fall. She came to love the sport, the Spirit of the Game and the camaraderie of the whole community. Considering that this was a great sport from several different fronts, she engaged Mike Ho and together started the Curtis Middle School Ultimate Frisbee Team, in the fall of 2019. Since then, she has been involved in both, the middle and the high school team.

Always looking for ways to learn more about the sport, she got her USAUltimate Coaching Certification in 2023 and continues to look for new opportunities for each of the teams she works with.

Two of her three boys play Ultimate; one at College level and the youngest one, at the LS team, and she wishes Ultimate Frisbee had been part of her growing years as a middle and high school student.
