Adopted under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Chedon Empestan
Ratified by the Congregation: June 2026
This Statement of Faith is the doctrinal foundation of Elohim Bible Baptist Church. It is based exclusively upon the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Scriptures, which we believe to be the preserved, infallible, and final authority in all matters of faith and practice (Psalm 12:6-7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV).
Article I: The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired, inerrant, and preserved Word of God. The KJV is God’s preserved Word in the English language.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God…”
Psalm 119:89 KJV: “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
Isaiah 40:8 KJV: “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
The Scriptures are our sole rule for faith, practice, church polity, and daily living.
Article II: The Godhead (Trinitarian)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
1 John 5:7 KJV: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
Matthew 28:19 KJV: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.”
Article III: The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully Man, conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died a vicarious substitutionary death, was buried, rose bodily the third day, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of God. He is the Head of the Church.
John 1:1, 14 KJV: “In the beginning was the Word… And the Word was made flesh…”
Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23 KJV (Virgin Birth)
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV (Death, Burial, Resurrection)
Ephesians 5:23 KJV: “Christ is the head of the church…”
Article IV: The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Vicar of Christ on earth, convicting of sin, regenerating believers, indwelling, sealing, filling, and empowering them for service. Spiritual gifts are given for the edification of the church.
John 16:7-14 KJV
Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV (Sealing)
Ephesians 5:18 KJV (Filling)
Article V: Man and Salvation
We believe man is totally depraved and lost in sin. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in the finished work of Christ alone. It is instantaneous, evidenced by repentance and a changed life.
Romans 3:23; 6:23 KJV
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV: “For by grace are ye saved through faith…”
Acts 20:21 KJV: “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We reject all forms of works salvation, baptismal regeneration, or sacramentalism.
Article VI: The Church
We believe the local church is an autonomous, independent assembly of baptized believers. Christ is its Head; the congregation holds final authority under Scripture. There are two scriptural offices: Pastor (Elder) and Deacons.
Matthew 18:17; Acts 6:3; 1 Timothy 3 KJV
Ephesians 4:11-12 KJV (Pastors/Teachers)
1 Timothy 3:1-13 KJV (Qualifications)
Baptist Distinctives we uphold:
Local Church Autonomy
Congregational Governance
Priesthood of All Believers (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)
Believer’s Baptism by Immersion (Mark 16:16; Acts 8:36-38 KJV)
Individual Soul Liberty
Separation of Church and State
Two Offices Only
No Lording Over the Flock (1 Peter 5:2-3 KJV)
Article VII: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Baptism: By immersion for believers only as an act of obedience and public testimony (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4 KJV).
Lord’s Supper: A memorial ordinance for baptized believers, observed regularly (1 Corinthians 11:23-26 KJV).
Article VIII: Separation and Holy Living
We believe in personal and ecclesiastical separation from sin, false doctrine, and worldly practices. Believers are called to holy living.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJV
Romans 12:1-2 KJV
2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJV (Stand against apostasy)
Article IX: Eschatology (Last Things)
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational Rapture of the Church, followed by the 7-year Tribulation, the literal Second Coming of Christ, the Millennial Kingdom, final judgment, and eternal states (heaven and hell).
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV (Rapture)
Revelation 20 KJV (Millennium)
Matthew 24-25; Daniel 9:24-27; Revelation 4-22 KJV
We hold a futurist, dispensational interpretation of prophecy and reject covenant/replacement theology and post-tribulational views.
Article X: Civil Government and Family
We believe in honoring civil authorities (Romans 13:1-7 KJV) while maintaining separation of church and state. The home is the first institution ordained by God, with clear biblical roles for husbands, wives, and children (Ephesians 5:22-6:4 KJV).
Article XI: Women’s Roles in the Church
We believe women are equal in value before God but have distinct roles. Women are to be in subjection in the church assembly and not usurp authority over men in teaching or exercising pastoral authority.
1 Corinthians 14:34-35 KJV
1 Timothy 2:11-12 KJV
Ephesians 5:22-24 KJV
Women are encouraged to serve in ministries consistent with Scripture (Titus 2:3-5; Proverbs 31 KJV).
Closing Declaration
This Statement of Faith shall govern all teaching, preaching, policies, and practices of Elohim Bible Baptist Church. Any deviation from it shall be subject to church discipline and congregational action.
We reject all heresies that deny the Trinity, the deity of Christ, salvation by grace through faith, the authority of the KJV, or any doctrine contrary to the clear teaching of Scripture.
Approved and Ratified by the Congregation of Elohim Bible Baptist Church under Pastor Chedon Empestan, with the endorsement of WCCTM, Inc. and our sister commissioning churches.
This detailed Statement of Faith can be added as Appendix A to the Church Constitution and Bylaws.

Elohim Bible Baptist Church (EBBC) exemplifies a vibrant, independent local Baptist congregation that blends the best of Fundamental Baptist rigor in doctrinal purity and separation, First Baptist zeal for soul-winning and community engagement, and Bible Baptist commitment to verse-by-verse preaching of the infallible Word of God. Guided by its Constitution, which establishes orderly governance rooted in Scripture, EBBC operates under a mixed servant leadership model. This integrates Congregational (member participation in major decisions), Pastoral (shepherding and preaching authority), Administrative (efficient operations), Presbyterian (plurality of elders for oversight), and Servant Leadership (Christ-like humility and sacrifice).
Baptist Distinctives as the Foundation
EBBC anchors all its beliefs and practices in the classic BAPTISTS Distinctives. These are not traditions of men but convictions firmly established in the Word of God.
Biblical Authority — “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).
Autonomy of the Local Church — “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).
Priesthood of the Believer — “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people” (1 Peter 2:9).
Two Ordinances — “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19) and “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come” (1 Corinthians 11:26).
Individual Soul Liberty — “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:12).
Saved, Baptized Church Membership — “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized… and the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2:41, 47).
Two Offices — “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work” (1 Timothy 3:1) and qualifications for deacons in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
Separation — “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord” (2 Corinthians 6:17).
Supporting Verses: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Acts 2:41-47; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Peter 2:9; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
Leadership Structure
EBBC’s mixed servant leadership model ensures balance, accountability, and Christ-centered service as clearly defined in the church Constitution.
Congregational Leadership — “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul” (Acts 4:32).
Pastoral Leadership — “Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof… not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind” (1 Peter 5:2).
Administrative Leadership — “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Presbyterian (Elder) Oversight — “And when they had ordained them elders in every church… they commended them to the Lord” (Acts 14:23).
Servant Leadership — “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).
Supporting Verses: 1 Peter 5:1-4; Hebrews 13:17; Acts 6:1-7; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9; Philippians 2:5-8; Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Corinthians 14:40; Acts 14:23; Matthew 20:25-28.
Typical Programs and Timeline
EBBC maintains a consistent, purposeful schedule of programs designed to facilitate worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and service.
Weekly
Sunday Morning Worship & Sunday School — “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together… but exhorting one another” (Hebrews 10:25).
Sunday Evening & Wednesday Prayer Meeting — “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42).
Monthly
Lord’s Supper & Business Meeting — “This do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24-25).
Annually
Revival Meetings, VBS, Missions Conference, Camps — “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Conclusion
Through its weekly, monthly, and annual rhythms, Elohim Bible Baptist Church provides a consistent spiritual home where Christ is exalted, believers are discipled, families are strengthened, and the Gospel is proclaimed. Firmly rooted in Scripture and guided by balanced leadership, EBBC continues to fulfill the Great Commission with passion and order.
“Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:21)

I solemnly covenant and agree, by God’s enabling grace:

No debt without congregational approval.

Article VIII: Church Discipline
The goal of all church discipline is restoration and reconciliation, not punishment or destruction. It is exercised in humility, love, and obedience to Scripture to maintain the purity of the church, protect the flock, and glorify God.
Galatians 6:1 KJV: “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”
Matthew 18:15-17 KJV (Primary Pattern)
2 Thessalonians 3:14-15 KJV: “And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.”
James 5:19-20 KJV: “Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
Section 1. Biblical Basis
Church discipline is commanded in Scripture for the following reasons:
To restore the sinning believer (Galatians 6:1; James 5:19-20 KJV).
To maintain the purity and testimony of the church (1 Corinthians 5:6-8 KJV).
To deter others from sin (1 Timothy 5:20 KJV).
To obey the Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church.
Section 2. Scope
Discipline applies to members (Regular and Honorary) for:
Unrepentant sin that brings reproach upon Christ and the church.
Doctrinal deviation from the Statement of Faith.
Divisiveness, gossip, rebellion against biblical leadership, or persistent neglect of covenant responsibilities.
Section 3. Progressive Steps of Discipline (Matthew 18:15-17 KJV)
Private Admonition (Step One) The concerned member goes privately to the offending brother or sister in a spirit of meekness and humility to seek restoration.
“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” (Matthew 18:15 KJV)
If resolved, the matter ends and remains confidential.
With Witnesses (Step Two) If there is no repentance, take one or two more spiritual witnesses (preferably mature members, possibly involving a Deacon or Presbyter) to confirm the facts and appeal again.
“But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.” (Matthew 18:16 KJV)
To the Church (Step Three) If still unrepentant, the matter is brought before the church (Pastor + Presbyters advise, Deacons help facilitate). The congregation is informed in a business meeting and seeks repentance.
“And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church…” (Matthew 18:17 KJV)
Removal from Fellowship (Step Four) If the member remains unrepentant after the church’s appeal, the congregation may vote (by majority or two-thirds as determined) to remove the member from fellowship.
“...but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.” (Matthew 18:17 KJV)
This includes removal of voting rights and restriction from participating in the Lord’s Supper and church ministries.
Section 4. Role of Leadership
The Pastor and Presbyters provide spiritual oversight and counsel throughout the process.
Deacons assist with practical matters and ensure fairness and confidentiality where appropriate.
All proceedings are conducted with prayer, humility, and without lording (1 Peter 5:2-3 KJV).
Section 5. Public vs. Private Offenses
Private sins are handled discreetly per Matthew 18.
Public or scandalous sins (e.g., immorality that is widely known, 1 Corinthians 5) may require faster public action to protect the church’s testimony, always aiming for repentance.
Section 6. Restoration Process
The church rejoices in genuine repentance and welcomes the restored member (2 Corinthians 2:6-8 KJV).
A period of observation and counseling may be required before full restoration to leadership roles.
“Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him…” (2 Corinthians 2:6-7 KJV)
Section 7. Appeal and Fairness
Any member under discipline has the right to be heard by the congregation before final action. All decisions are made in business meetings with quorum present.
Section 8. Records and Confidentiality
Discipline matters are handled with Christian love and discretion. Detailed records are kept confidential by the Pastor and Secretary, accessible only to leadership as needed.
Section 9: Restoration Process
Restoration begins the moment there is clear evidence of genuine repentance (godly sorrow leading to changed behavior, not mere worldly regret – 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV). The process is led by the Pastor with input from Presbyters and Deacons, and ultimately affirmed by the congregation.
Steps for Restoration:
Expression of Repentance The disciplined person approaches the Pastor (or designated leaders) with a humble, specific confession of sin, evidence of godly sorrow, and a desire to be restored. Public sins may require public confession before the congregation (as appropriate and agreed upon by leadership).
Evaluation by Leadership The Pastor and Presbyters (with Deacons as needed) meet with the individual to assess the sincerity of repentance. This may include:
Review of the original offense and fruits of repentance.
A written or verbal restoration plan/covenant outlining accountability steps, counseling, and restitution (if applicable).
Involvement of affected parties where appropriate (e.g., spouse, family).
Accountability and Support Plan A small restoration team (spiritually mature members, preferably of the same gender where possible) is appointed to walk alongside the individual. This includes:
Regular meetings for prayer, Bible study, and accountability.
Recommended resources (KJV-focused counseling, discipleship materials).
Restrictions on service/leadership roles during a probationary period (duration based on the nature of the offense – e.g., 3–12 months or longer).
Continued attendance at services and prayer meetings is encouraged.
Congregational Affirmation Once leadership is satisfied with the progress, the matter is presented to the church in a business meeting (without unnecessary details to protect privacy). The congregation votes to reaffirm love and restore the member to full fellowship (including voting rights, Lord’s Supper participation, and ministry involvement as appropriate).
Public Reaffirmation (if needed) A special time of prayer, forgiveness, and welcome may be observed during a worship service to “confirm your love” and celebrate the restoration (2 Corinthians 2:8 KJV).
Ongoing Care and Monitoring Restoration is not instantaneous. The individual remains under loving oversight for a defined period. Full restoration to leadership roles (Pastor, Deacon, etc.) follows biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1 KJV) and may require additional time to rebuild trust and reputation.
Section 10: Special Considerations
Honorary Members: The same biblical principles apply, with sensitivity to their founding role.
Leadership Falls: Higher standards and longer restoration periods apply (James 3:1 KJV).
Legal / Civil Matters: The church cooperates with civil authorities where required but maintains spiritual focus.
No Restoration Without Repentance: Persistent unrepentance results in continued exclusion (1 Corinthians 5:11-13 KJV).
Confidentiality: All matters are handled with discretion to avoid gossip and further harm.
Meekness and Humility: All involved must guard against pride (Galatians 6:1 KJV).
Forgiveness and Comfort: The church must actively forgive and comfort to prevent excessive sorrow (2 Corinthians 2:7 KJV).
Protection of the Church: Restoration never compromises doctrinal purity or church testimony.
Glory to God: The ultimate aim is the edification of the body and the honor of Christ (Ephesians 4:15-16 KJV).
This Restoration Process completes the balanced approach in EBBC’s governance: firm discipline when needed, abundant grace and love upon repentance.
Article IX: Dissolution
In event of dissolution, assets distributed to WCCTM, Inc. or like-minded KJV Baptist works after debts are paid.
Article X: Amendments and Ratification
This Constitution was presented as a Final Draft under Pastor Chedon Empestan, recommended by the commissioning pastors, and ratified by congregational vote in June 2026.
Amendments require a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the congregation in a duly called business meeting.
Approved and Ratified:

(KJV-Focused Study for EBBC Church Discipline & Restoration Process)
Restoration after discipline or failure is a major theme in Scripture. God delights in redeeming and reinstating the repentant. These examples provide practical models for how Elohim Bible Baptist Church should handle restoration with grace, truth, and love.
1. Peter’s Restoration (John 21:15-19 KJV)
After publicly denying the Lord Jesus three times (John 18:15-27), Peter was restored by Christ Himself.
Key Process: Jesus met Peter privately by the sea, asked him three times, “Lovest thou me?” (mirroring the three denials), and recommissioned him: “Feed my lambs… Feed my sheep.”
Outcome: Peter was fully restored to apostleship and became a bold leader in the early church (Acts 2).
Lesson for EBBC: Restoration involves personal, loving confrontation by leadership, reaffirmation of love for Christ, and recommissioning to service. Public failure may require public restoration.
2. The Corinthian Sinner (1 Corinthians 5 & 2 Corinthians 2:5-11 KJV)
A man living in open immorality was disciplined and removed from fellowship by the church.
Discipline: “Put away from among yourselves that wicked person” (1 Cor 5:13).
Restoration: After genuine repentance, Paul urged the church: “Sufficient to such a man is this punishment… ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him… confirm your love toward him” (2 Cor 2:6-8).
Warning: Failure to restore could allow Satan to gain advantage (2 Cor 2:11).
Lesson for EBBC: Discipline must be followed by eager forgiveness and comfort once repentance is evident. Congregational affirmation is vital.
3. King David (2 Samuel 11-12; Psalm 51 KJV)
David committed adultery and murder but was confronted by Nathan the prophet.
Repentance: “I have sinned against the LORD” (2 Samuel 12:13). Psalm 51 is his classic prayer of brokenness.
Restoration: God forgave him (though consequences remained), and David continued as king and “the man after God’s own heart.”
Lesson: Godly sorrow leads to cleansing (Psalm 51:7-12). Even leaders can be restored, though trust must be rebuilt.
4. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32 KJV)
The younger son wasted his inheritance in sin and returned repentant.
Father’s Response: Ran to him, embraced him, restored him fully with robe, ring, shoes, and a feast. “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.”
Lesson: The church should mirror the Father’s heart — rejoicing and full acceptance upon return, not grudging reintegration.
5. John Mark (Acts 15:36-41; 2 Timothy 4:11 KJV)
Mark deserted Paul and Barnabas on the mission field, causing a sharp contention.
Later Restoration: Paul later requested, “Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry” (2 Tim 4:11).
Lesson: Failures in ministry can be overcome. Time, growth, and proven fruit lead to restored usefulness.
6. Other Notable Examples
Job — After intense suffering and testing, “the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends” (Job 42:10).
Israel’s Cycles — Repeated national repentance and restoration (e.g., Judges, Nehemiah 9).
Galatians 6:1 KJV — General command: “Restore such an one in the spirit of meekness.”
Application to EBBC’s Restoration Process
These examples confirm and enrich our procedures:
Private & Loving → Peter’s seaside encounter.
Congregational Affirmation → Corinthian case.
Rejoicing & Full Welcome → Prodigal Son.
Recommissioning to Service → Peter and Mark.
Meekness & Caution → Galatians 6:1.
Goal: Always restoration to full fellowship and usefulness for God’s glory (Galatians 6:1; 2 Corinthians 2:8; James 5:19-20 KJV).

Introduction
2 Corinthians 2:5-11 is the beautiful follow-up to the severe discipline in 1 Corinthians 5. It shows the restoration phase after discipline has accomplished its purpose. Paul urges the church not only to forgive the repentant sinner but to comfort him and confirm their love toward him. This passage is essential for balancing firmness in discipline with abundant grace in restoration.
2 Corinthians 2:5-11
“But if any have caused grief, he hath not grieved me, but in part: that I may not overcharge you all.
Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.
So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.
For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
Verse-by-Verse Examination & Lessons
Verse 5-6: Acknowledgment of the Discipline
The offense caused grief to the church and to Paul.
“Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.”
The public discipline (removal from fellowship) had run its course.
Lesson: Discipline must have a clear endpoint. Once repentance is evident, continued punishment becomes counterproductive.
Verse 7: The Command to Forgive and Comfort
“So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such an one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.”
Key Actions:
Forgive (release the debt/offense).
Comfort (encourage, strengthen, console).
Lesson: Restoration protects the repentant person from despair. Excessive sorrow can lead to spiritual defeat.
Verse 8: Confirm Your Love
“Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.”
Lesson: Restoration should be public and demonstrative — not grudging or silent reintegration. The church must actively reaffirm acceptance (e.g., through prayer, welcome, or a special service).
Verses 9-11: Obedience, Unity, and Spiritual Warfare
Paul tests the church’s obedience through how they handle restoration.
Forgiveness is “in the person of Christ.”
Warning: Failure to restore gives Satan an advantage (“we are not ignorant of his devices”).
Lesson: Proper restoration demonstrates obedience to Christ, maintains church unity, and defeats the enemy’s schemes.
Comparison with Previous Passages
Passage Focus EBBC Application
Matthew 18 Progressive Process Standard steps for most cases
1 Corinthians 5 Removal for Purity Swift action for public scandal
2 Corinthians 2 Restoration & Comfort Active forgiveness, comfort, & love confirmation
Galatians 6:1 Meekness in Restoration Spirit governing every step
Practical Application to EBBC
Restoration is Congregational After leadership evaluation, the congregation formally votes to restore (as in our Constitution).
Concrete Steps for EBBC (Building on Previous Documents):
Leadership meets with the repentant person to confirm genuine repentance.
Develop a brief accountability plan.
Bring to business meeting for congregational affirmation.
Publicly “confirm your love” in a worship service (prayer, testimony, welcome).
Monitor lovingly during a transition period before full leadership roles.
Special Note for Honorary Members The same grace applies, with appreciation for their foundational role in the RMS family and church planting.
Safeguards
Restoration never compromises doctrine or qualifications (1 Tim 3; Titus 1).
Protect the weak and maintain church testimony.
Closing Exhortation
2 Corinthians 2 completes the circle of discipline: Confront → Remove (if needed) → Restore with love. This reflects the heart of our Saviour who restores us daily by His grace.
Memory Verse for EBBC Members:
2 Corinthians 2:8 KJV — “Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.”
This study integrates seamlessly with the Membership Covenant, Matthew 18 Flowchart, Galatians 6 Meekness, and the full Church Discipline & Restoration Article in the Constitution.

Introduction
Galatians 6:1 KJV is the foundational verse for biblical church discipline and restoration:
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”
Meekness is not weakness — it is strength under God’s control. It is the humble, gentle, self-controlled spirit of Christ that empowers restoration rather than destruction.
Key Meekness Principles from Galatians 6 (KJV)
Meekness Requires Spiritual Maturity
“Ye which are spiritual” — Only mature, Spirit-filled believers should lead in restoration.
Galatians 6:1 KJV
Lesson: Prideful or immature leaders must not handle discipline. Presbyters and Pastor must exemplify this (1 Timothy 3:2-3; Titus 1:7-8 KJV).
Meekness Involves Self-Examination
“Considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.”
Galatians 6:3-4 KJV: “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work…”
Lesson: Before confronting others, examine your own heart. This prevents harsh judgment and promotes humility (Matthew 7:3-5 KJV).
Meekness Bears Burdens Gently
Galatians 6:2 KJV: “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
Lesson: Restoration includes walking alongside the repentant person — counseling, prayer, accountability — not abandoning them.
Meekness Practices Humility in Service
Galatians 6:3-5 KJV (Balance of personal responsibility and mutual help).
Galatians 6:9-10 KJV: “And let us not be weary in well doing… As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
Lesson: Meek restoration is patient, persistent, and focused on the good of the whole church.
Meekness Reaps Eternal Reward
Galatians 6:7-8 KJV: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Galatians 6:9 KJV: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Lesson: Gentle, meek handling of discipline brings long-term spiritual harvest for the individual and the church.
Christ as the Perfect Example of Meekness
Matthew 11:29 KJV: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart…”
2 Corinthians 10:1 KJV: “Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ…”
Meekness is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV).
Application to EBBC Discipline & Restoration Process
Stage Meekness Principle Applied Key Verse
Private Admonition Humble, private, self-examined approach Gal 6:1; Matt 18:15
With Witnesses Gentle confirmation of facts, no gossip Gal 6:1-2
To the Church Congregational appeal in love, not public shaming Gal 6:2; 2 Cor 2:6-8
Removal (if needed) Sorrowful, prayerful, hopeful for return Gal 6:1; 1 Cor 5:5
Restoration Full comfort, confirmation of love, recommissioning Gal 6:1-2; 2 Cor 2:7-8
Practical Guidelines for EBBC Leaders & Members:
Always pray before any confrontation.
Speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15 KJV).
Avoid lording over others (1 Peter 5:3 KJV) — this violates meekness.
Honor the Membership Covenant’s commitment to unity and reconciliation.
For Honorary Members (RMS First Family), apply the same principles with added gratitude for their foundational role.
Closing Exhortation (Galatians 6:18 KJV)
“Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.”
This study of meekness in Galatians 6 perfectly complements EBBC’s Constitution, Membership Covenant, Discipline Procedures, and Restoration Process. It ensures all actions reflect the spirit of Christ.
