Digital Arts
Projects from Graphic Arts 1
(mostly copy and pasted from the Adobe Express portfolio we were forced to make)
This is my first digital artwork made in GA1 class! overall it was not too difficult, but the shape builder tool was a nightmare. I did however manage to use the shape builder tool on my own to make those clouds. the Bottle and straw was the most difficult thing to make. I learned about the importance of naming my layers.
What was the most difficult part of the project? it was figuring out how to heck to make the orange circle have a hole in it. Spoiler alert: It was to make a clipping mask. I had to use the Shape-builder tool again to make the three triangles into the mountains so that they could all have a pretty boarder around the edges. I also applied a gradient on the mountains. I originally wanted the words inside the circle but it wouldn't cooperate so I opted to have them on the outside and put a blue circle there so it looked a little nicer.
Honestly, it was super easy to make this following the tutorial, and it was a lot of fun too! the hardest part was getting the perforation to look right. My favorite part was choosing a preset artwork to add for the detail on the stamp. During this project I learned about the stamp tool, which is how I was able to get the art on there so quickly. I think now I have a better understanding of some of the tools, um, I forgot the name of the essential tool here but I think I understand it better now.
It was not that hard, but I had to use the Shapebuilder tool to mirror the mouth in order to make it all nice like that. I made the blush a group that consists of a rectangle gradient and some lines. it was very hard to get the sweat drop to look right and took a lot of tinkering.
3D Version:
WHAT HAVE I DONE???? IT IS TERRIFYING!!! (I did this using an effect because Mr. Fischer told me to.)
I was instructed to trace parts off me with the ellipse tool and pen tool, then drag it over.
I have made use of the shape builder tool to make my hair one solid piece, as I used the ellipse tool to create my eyes. I used the eye dropper tool to match the colors to my real face
I used the shape builder tool to blend my left eyebrow into my hair. I separated my left brow into two sections so that I could use the eye dropper tool to color them accordingly.
I put an ellipse below everything to make my skin tone.
I have used the eraser tool to shape my hair to look nicer, and the paint tool to add some texture to my hair. I made my skin tone more accurate, as well as coloring in my right eyebrow. I did some touch up to my skin to make sure it filled my whole face.
I made my mouth thinner, and added some additional strokes off color to my hair.
I filled in my eyes with white (which proved to be quite difficult, I had to ask for help), and then I used the paintbrush tool matching the color of my skin to shape my eyes to be a bit rounder.
I have added some more strokes to my hair, and I used the warp function to Warp > Arc > -20% Arc My mouth to make it look like I am smiling. I know that now it is isn't exact, but my mom wanted it. I also added some accent lines in various places on my face.
I made my eyebrows curved in the same way that I curved my mouth.
Nose Job.
I pasted my piece on top of my real body and I think it looks amazing! Does this mean I can be a PNGtuber now? Haha, just kidding...
This project was a lot of fun! I think I did pretty dang amazing, but if I could change one thing it would be to spend more time on my nose.
I had a really hard time with the drop shadow, so you really cannot see the depth in the image, but that's okay I guess. Additionally, I have applied a fabric like texture to the whole thing so that it looked a bit more surreal.
This project was very difficult for me because I struggled to find original ideas that were easy enough for me to do.
In this project I learned the importance of timeliness while creating because I almost did not finish. I also learned how to manipulate text in advanced ways in illustrator (which is super annoying and difficult). I am very happy that it is done, I don’t think I would want to do this again unless I had a lot more time. My favorite poster to make was the final one, which had the moon in the background. It was fun.
Thanks to the incredible help from artificial intelligence, I have been able to learn new skills in Adobe Illustrator faster than normal. Some of the things that I learned to do in these three monograms include knowing how to use the Shape Builder tool, which I know I have talked about before, but now I have mastered it. I have also mastered the ability to use sacrificial lines to designate areas where the Shape Builder tool can separate shapes so that I can make them crazy colors. Additionally, I was taught how to turn lines into shapes by joining them in the Object menu. Before I started making these projects, I watched a YouTube video on how to make monograms, which taught me how to create outlines on shapes so that I could freely modify and stretch them to my liking.
I was originally going to make a knock-off of Lay's chips, but when I was experimenting with logo colors, it kinda looked like a cookie, so I just took that baton and ran with it.
It has been a wild ride, let me tell you... but after a lot of frustration, pulled hair, and dead brain cells (okay maybe not that last one) I have finally created a 3D model of Flexie's chips, which, I have always intended to be potato chips, but when I saw the colors of a cookie, I just could not resist, and had to make cookie flavored potato chips. The hardest part was figuring out how to dimension the image to overlay on the premade 3D model.
The thing that made this exam so special, was that at the beginning of the year we had to draw a design we wanted to make. After months of class (and realizing how hard graphic design is) we were then tasked with making our original designs.
Also, It's a total coincidence that I chose the same color grey as the background...
Projects from Graphic Arts 2
(I added to this as I made my second Adobe portfolio)
For this project, I simply followed a tutorial for it. The purpose of the project was to recollect the skills of Adobe Illustrator, since the last time I used it was 2nd semester Sophomore year, and at the time of making this, it is 2nd semester Junior year. The most difficult part of this project was actually something that was so annoying I decided to omit it. It was putting an orange shadow on each of these trees, (which is just a random PNG I found, I didn't make them) and I could not figure out how to do it... Well, I did do exactly what the tutorial showed to do, but it didn't work, so oh well. I had a lot of fun though! And I can't wait for my next project! The orange shadow behind the hills was pretty easy for me to make because I did it in my own way instead of following the tutorial. The way that the tutorial wanted me to do it was dumb, and I didn't like it. If I could do anything differently about this project, it would be to fix the elliptical gradient on the bottom so that it does not pass through the ground. (I have time to fix it, but I am not going to because I am busy with figuring out how to submit the assignments at the moment.) Edit: I couldn't stand it, so I fixed it.
I just did this because I had extra time. Goofy ahh Santa.
Even though I didn't make them right, I think they look really good.
I know it's bad. I used a grid to line everything up.
I honestly think that this turned out WAY better than the others, and this was somthing that I just whipped up in 5 minutes...
This is my first project made in Adobe Photoshop. I cut the balloon from a different image, and pasted it here in this desert with cars.
This is actually the second double exposure image I have made, I just didn't post the first one here because the images used belonged to Adobe and I was just barrowing them to learn with. The photos I used for this images are form Unsplash.com
The cat had a stupid salmon colored splotch on the background because of some editing mistakes, but I managed to cover it with a rectangle that I made the same color as the background using the eyedropper tool. So far, this is my favorite thing I have made with Photoshop.
His name? I have no idea. How did he get on the moon? Well, he's just so chill that he stopped obeying gravity. Man's so chill he doesn't need to breathe. Can I get a hell yeah? Anyway, this took a lot of time, especially to get the galaxy into his glasses, but after a lot of struggling, it actually happened by accident on the left lens, so I just copied it to the right side, and trimmed it up a little bit with the eraser tool to make it fit a little better.

I made a picture of a man kicking upwards. I had a lot of trouble making the sun, and had to simplify the design. the lines around his shoulder and foot is suppose to symbolize motion. I experimented with designing a drop shadow around the objects. The sky has a gradient in it to make the image seem more dynamic.
Named after this song. I just wanted to take a pattern and repeat it in an interesting way by pasting it together, with each repetition getting more complex. the linked song is what I was listening to while making it, and it is exactly how I felt during the project. It was a very emotional experience for me, and I felt a certain happy sadness while making it.
I made this because I had nothing better to do, and though that it would be funny if I put Nunchucks in a character's or another person's hand.
This is the first infographic I have ever made, and I am pretty proud of it! Making all the bubbles was very tedious, but I think it looks good. The hardest part was spacing it out, and the easiest part was doing fun stuff, like picking out colors. If I had to change one thing about it, I would find a way to make it pop off the page in a way. The most important design element for me was alignment. I apologize for a higher quality image not being accessible, this is due to the limitations of Google Sites. If I find a way to link the PDF version here, I'll do that also.
Don't ask. I was going through some shit.
I really enjoyed making these, more so the second one than the first one. I improvised learning the 3D text, which was a lot of fun. The most time-consuming part of the project was making the umbrella. The gradient was easy, but the making the stick was hard. I used the shape builder tool (Shift + M) to connect a few rectangles together, and then rounded them off, and layered them under the top part of the umbrella. I also did a small amount of research to discover the common aspect ratio for album covers, and made sure to have two art boards for the front and back.
So, I just made this because I had some extra time. I was experimenting with the Effects tab.
Experiment with the Blend tool
Mmhm.
Hmm yes, it seems you can use Extrude and Bevel on objects you already used Blend on, this does seem prosperous.
Quesadilla... or chocolate chip cookie?
Literally just copied off of my food truck PNG
Thrown together
I used a template for this, modifying its colors and some shapes and added patterns.
Don't tell my teacher, but I rushed through the Big Project to make this :)
It was made by tracing an image of him, and then creating gradients of him skin tones by selecting surfaces acroiss his clothes and body. Don't mind the nose, I tried my best.

I feel a bit unwell, perhaps I am tired.
I think I feel happy again... Maybe?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGHGG
Maybe I'm late for it.
This took a long time to load.
You, uh... You can't see the full complexity of this unless you load the original file in Illustrator. I was able to do this without killing the GPU by using a PNG of the previous version, which was simpler becuase it was all baked together as one asset.
Slurp slurp, drink the art so you grow big and strong! (Don't ask)
Now we're thinkin' with portals.
Hm.
Okay. I am done now.
I promise I won't make this one like the last one.
Or did I? Seems different enough.
It sort of reminds me of a sandal shop that I saw in Arizona.
Hell yeah.
I used a reference image to make this. It isn't perfect, but that's okay. I used a built in photoshop effect to make the texture look more rough and worn down.
Thank you so much for arriving on time. I never lost faith in you!
Even better than the last one, and I made it much faster too! I used the digital ruler thingy to make the handles somewhat proportional to the chain. Made on 5/15/25
A simple image comparing my first and second nunchaku illustrations.
We had to design business cards about anything, so I chose one that displayed my skills. Yes, I did reuse assets to make this. Cutting corners is what I do best!
