GENERAL
The school provides secondary economic and general education for young people aged 15 – 19.
It is situated in south Bohemia and has 240 students and approximately 24 teachers + other staff. Great emphasis is put on foreign languages and computer skills. Students are from different social background, most of them are commuters from nearby villages and belong to middle class or lower middle class families. We have Ukrainians, Vietnamese, Moldavians and Romany students.
Two foreign languages, English and German, are taught and are compulsory during all 4 years of their studies. Besides that Economics, Accountancy, Information Technology and science belong to the most essential subjects.
MOTIVATION
We are strongly motivated to join the project because we want to motivate all national minorities to become an active part of our educational process. We can share our experience with creative teaching methods which we use to make our students feel included in the society and to become active members of it. We want to learn from other participants how to effectively avoid racial prejudices, how languages, culture, nature preservation and craftsmanship can connect people and make them be involved in the world around them.
KEY PEOPLE AND EXPERIENCE
The key persons involved in the project will be 2 teachers, Alena Kopecká ,an English and Social Science teacher and Eva Chovancová, an English teacher experienced in project work, and the headmaster of the school, Mr. Pavel Sekyrka. In case something happens with these people the organization of the project will be taken over by the teachers Hana Svobodová and Kateřina Wagnerová. The budget of the project will be controlled and supervised by headmaster and an accountancy expert Ms. Hana Karolyiová,deputy headmistress of the school.
