GENERAL
The Technical Vocational School of Larnaca, Cyprus is a public secondary school educating up to 550 pupils of age 15 to 18 year old. The school provides comprehensive education and also offers professional courses for industries like tourism, hospitality and catering which help the students to gain knowledge and skills required for such industries. At the school there are 4 different departments. The electrical, carpeting, fashion design and hotel and catering departments. The school has 95 teachers and 550 students.
MOTIVATION
The duration in each course specialization is three academic years. All students at some time of their school attendance are placed as trainees in local companies to gain the necessary experience and be prepared to enter the labor market after graduation. Twice a year the students take written examinations on the basis of which they are promoted to the next class. During the last year they also have final exams that gives them the opportunity to enroll in public Universities of Cyprus and Greece. The school, being responsible for the future of its graduates, is actively seeking participation in the project in an effort to help the youth living in Cyprus develop further, both personally and professionally.
PARTICIPATION
Project participation will help our students become better business owners in their future lives, to gain skills and experiences, which will help them to start up a new business or new professional career. In addition, the exchange students will be able to learn and understand mentalities of a different cultures than their own. The participating students will make new friends, learn about customs, life style and companionship.
