Our Cisco Academy

Divine Word University, in collaboration with RMIT in Australia as the Academy Support Center, established the DWU Cisco Academy programme in 2015. Delivering our first CCNA R&S curriculum integrated into the Information Systems and Mathematics degree program networking strand in 2015.

After the training of instructors to teach the program we have since integrated the full CCNA R&S v5 curriculum successfully into the degree program taking beginning in second year. In the year 2017, we introduced the program to the public as a graduate certificate. The Graduate Certificate in Data Networking (GCDN) is now been delivered under the Flexible Learning programs as a 15 weeks blended instructor-led course.

This year 2019 we hope to expand the program to offer the CCNA CyberOps, CyberSecurity and other technical courses as part of an established program.

Having a national reach across PNG and hopefully various international contacts and partners. Our model with the GCDN is to reach the current workforce via blended distance learning. Many organizations cannot send staff to full-time training therefore we hope to let the continue working while learning at the same time. Finding that many are our alumni graduates are looking for this additional opportunity.

Currently the program is being offered out of the main campus in Madang with a small but strong team. Take a look the map below to see where we are or check out the team page to see the people involved in this program.
