This list will be updated twice a week.
Where are we located ?
We are located in Ronderbosh Cape town, South Africa.
Why are our bunnies so expensive ?
Our bunnies are expensive, because you are buying a purebred bunny not one off gumtree that could be fake. I have came across people selling ' dwarf rabbit ' and then after a few months they turn out to be a big breed. Another reason our bunnies are expensive is, because believe that the more expensive a pet is, the more the owner will take care of his/hers pet. A proper breeder knows that breeding isn't very profitable. We feed our bunnies the best pallets, good quality hay, veterinary care etc...
I really want to purchase a bunny, but how do I/how dose it work?
Before you you apply to adopt make sure you have read our sales policy here .Fist you will need to apply for a bunny here, then we shall approve your application if not we will send a personal email back to you and tell you why you have been rejected. Once you have been approved we shall put you on our waiting list for free, until you can reserve a bunny. You'll have to wait until the bunny is 8-10 weeks old (we cannot give them younger). Your bunny will come with a box and hay for the ride home, or you can buy an Arline approved carrier for R800-R900. You are welcome to purchase a health certificate for R700-800 each which will cover a basic external exam.
If I'm out of Cape Town can you cargo a bunny to me ?
We starting to work with a pet company called ' All Pets Transport ' for R450 per bunny. If for any reason they cannot transport we will use Bidvest Pet lounge which is about R600-R800. The prices include a rental crate from point A to point B.
Is there any health Guarantee ?
By the time we sell a bunny to you, the bunny is in great condition. He/she has no signs of worms or any diarrhea. If they have any problems we will notify you, so can make the choice for you to take her and treat her, or for us to do it for you. Please understand that these are live animals and there is always a risk when adopting live animals even when both parents are healthy with no known genetic issues to date. You are welcome to purchase a health certificate for R300-400 each which will cover a basic external exam. There will still be no health guarantee with the purchase of a health certificate but it gives some families a peace of mind. We are very experienced in being able to tell genders but we will not guarantee gender.
Why are most of my rabbits kept in separate cages?
We are a rabbitry, and if we have all our rabbits together we can cause inbreeding and have unwanted litters. Female bunnies have 2 wombs which means they can have 1 litter and another after 4 weeks, in total if a male and female bunny is together for a whole year she could have about 50-150 babies a year depending on the breed. This can cause health problem. When our breeding bunnies reach the age of 5 they will retire from breeding and will then be sterilized and bonded with another bunny.
Can I bath my bunny?
No, you should not bath your bunny/submerge your bunny under water. Bathing them can even be harmful, since they tend to panic in water and may fracture a limb or their spine if they thrash around. Bunnies are clean animals like cats so there is also no need to bath them.
Why shouldn't I support gumtree/non-registered breeders?
Gumtree/non-registered breeder are most probably terrible breeds, examples backyard breeding, keeping them in terrible conditions, not having enough water etc..
How to stop yourself from buying from these breeders?
Buy from a registered breeder. Contact the CRC, GRBA or the NRC( Cape Rabbit Club, Gauteng Rabbit Breeders Association, Natal Rabbit Club). All of the contact Numbers of these people can be found at our links page.
